Behind the Music of Daniel Massey
The Full Story
Daniel James Massey is a Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist developing his career as an up-and-coming performer. Mr. Massey spent his college years studying music and audio technology at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. There, he honed a diverse range of musical skills including arrangement, aural transcription, technical mastery of his instrument, as well as an extensive understanding of audio/visual technology.
Before coming to Nashville, Daniel spent his childhood in St. Louis, Missouri where he met his wife, Jestena Massey. They moved to Nashville shortly after their marriage and now have three beautiful dogs: Odie, Bridgette, ane Valentine. As well as being the father of three rather large dogs, Daniel and his wife are lovers of all types of art. While Daniel is a musician, she is co-owner of Bluebird Salon Studios in Hendersonville, TN. During his time as a student, Mr. Massey participated in multiple ensembles and musical groups ranging from a traditional jazz quartet, big band, an R&B group, a jazz fusion group, and several Senior Performances, including his own. His work in the studio environment has ranged from country to lo-fi hip hop as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, engineer, and producer. As of late, Mr. Massey spends most of his time as a guitarist and vocalist in multiple bands around Nashville, TN.
As a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with his bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music and a minor in Audio Technology, Mr. Massey is seeking to further his career as a musician. He has a wide range of experience and has the skills to be employed as a bandleader, side man, audio visual tech, as well as other professional positions in the entertainment industry.
